Privacy notice.
Version 3.3 · Effective 8 October 2026
This notice explains how we use personal information when you visit asksazzle.com, take the Sazzle Signature quiz, request your full Signature by email, join our launch-news waitlist or contact us. It covers this website, the quiz and the waitlist, rather than data you may later add to the Sazzle planning service.
Who is responsible
Ask Sazzle Ltd is the controller responsible for this information. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 17487563. Our registered office is 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF.
For privacy questions, requests or complaints, email hello@asksazzle.com or write to our registered office.
What we collect and why
- Waitlist and launch emails. When you ask to join, we email you a link to confirm. We add you to the list only when you confirm. We then keep your email address, your choice to receive launch news, the times you asked and confirmed, and a record of the wording you agreed to. We use these to manage the list and send the launch updates you requested. Our lawful basis for launch emails is your consent. See Joining the waitlist.
- Signup source. If you join through a campaign link or one of our social links, we save its campaign labels alongside your signup. These tell us which source, campaign or post led to a signup. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding which of our own launch campaigns work. This is separate from website analytics and is recorded when you submit the form, even if you decline analytics. You can object by emailing us.
- Website and email operation. Our providers process technical information such as IP addresses, browser/request details and email delivery, bounce or complaint information to serve the site, deliver messages and prevent misuse. We rely on our legitimate interests in running a reliable, secure service.
- Questions and preferences. If you contact us, we use your contact details and message to respond. We keep the information needed to respect an unsubscribe request and demonstrate your choices. We rely on our legitimate interests in handling enquiries and recording preferences, and on legal obligations where applicable to a rights request or complaint.
- Your Sazzle Signature. Your quiz answers and result stay on your device unless you ask us to email your full Signature. We then process your answers and email address to prepare and deliver the reading you requested. See Your Sazzle Signature.
- Optional website analytics. With your permission, we use Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics as explained below. One choice covers both, and our lawful basis is your consent.
Joining is optional. We need an email address and your launch-email consent to add you to this mailing list, but you can browse the website without joining or allowing analytics. We do not use the waitlist to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Your Sazzle Signature
You can take the quiz and see your archetype without providing your name or email address. Your answers and result stay in your browser unless you request an email (see Cookies and browser storage). If you share your Signature card, you choose where it goes; the card shows your archetype only. Technical information is still processed to deliver and secure the website, and optional analytics runs only with your permission, as explained below.
Email me my full Signature
When you select “Email me my full Signature”, we send your quiz answers and email address to our hosting provider, Vercel, to calculate your reading and prepare one result email. Resend receives your email address and the email content, including your archetype, full reading and planning preference, to deliver it. We rely on our legitimate interests in fulfilling your specific request. The email includes how Sazzle works with your Signature and an optional invitation to receive Sazzle launch news. Requesting the email does not add you to the waitlist or give us permission to send later launch updates.
Your full reading is in the email; you do not need to join the waitlist to read or keep it. To join, follow “Confirm my place” and confirm your choice on the page it opens. That link works for 48 hours. Opening the email or its link alone does not subscribe you. We do not send reminders if you do not join.
This journey does not create a saved Signature in a Sazzle account or a separate result database. Quiz answers are processed to calculate the result rather than retained as a separate server-side quiz record. Resend retains the result email and delivery records for its standard 30-day period. Your own mailbox may keep your copy for longer. If your email app loads the images, our image host receives a request for public images, some of whose filenames identify an archetype. These requests may include network and device information and may come through your email provider’s image proxy; they do not contain your email address in the image URL.
Joining the waitlist
When you ask to join, we email you a link to confirm your place. The link works for 48 hours. We don’t add you to the waitlist until you confirm: the link itself carries your address and the time you asked. If you don’t confirm, you won’t be added, and we don’t send reminders for an unconfirmed request. If you later unsubscribe, any confirmation link sent before then stops working; to rejoin, ask again and confirm the new link. The confirmation email stays in our email provider’s log for 30 days, like any email we send.
To protect the waitlist and result-email forms from automated misuse, we use a security check from Cloudflare (Turnstile), which processes your IP address and information about your browser and device. On the waitlist, the check loads when you start on the form; in the quiz, it loads when the result-email form is shown. We also keep short-lived one-way codes, derived from your IP address and your email address, to limit repeated requests. These are deleted after 24 hours at most. Upstash, our provider for these codes, holds them in London. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
Cloudflare processes these security signals on our behalf to provide Turnstile. It also uses signals as an independent controller to improve Turnstile’s bot detection, relying on its legitimate interests. See Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy notice for its processing and your rights.
Optional analytics
We offer one analytics choice covering both Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics. Neither service loads until you select “Allow analytics” after being told about both services. If you select “No thanks”, neither service runs. Activity before you allow analytics is never sent afterwards.
Google Analytics helps us measure visits, referral sources, successful waitlist joins and Signature activity: starting and finishing the quiz, acknowledgement of a result-email request and use of the sharing feature. Google receives cookie identifiers, browser/device information and usage events, and processes your IP address to derive approximate location. Our analytics events include the page path, page title, referring website and recognised social channel, where available. A page path or title can identify an archetype page you viewed; this does not necessarily mean it is your own result. We do not include your signup email address, quiz answers or full URL query string in those events. See Google's privacy policy.
Vercel Web Analytics counts page visits and a few steps: starting and finishing the Signature quiz, acknowledgement of a result-email request, and joining the waitlist. An acknowledgement does not prove that an email was delivered. It receives the page you visited, limited to a fixed list of our public pages with no query string or fragment; the referring website, limited to its domain; the time; and the names of those steps. These public paths include named archetype pages, so Vercel can receive the name of an archetype page you viewed. That does not necessarily mean it is your own result. Vercel also derives approximate location and browser and device type from your request. Visitors are counted with a hash of the request; Vercel says the visitor session is discarded after 24 hours. Vercel’s script sets no cookies and saves nothing in your browser. We do not send your email address, quiz answers or the links we email you. We see aggregated counts only. See Vercel’s Web Analytics privacy information.
Quiz steps are counted only for quiz attempts you start after allowing analytics. So that a step isn’t counted twice, the page keeps a small list of the steps already counted for that attempt in your browser, separate from your quiz answers (see below). That list holds only step names and an identifier for the attempt; it never holds your answers. A step can still be counted again from another browser or after storage is cleared, and some visits aren’t counted at all, so these figures are approximate. Our saved records, not these counts, are what we rely on for signups.
You can select “No thanks” or change your choice at any time using . Declining does not prevent signup. Withdrawing stops both services on this site, clears the site’s first-party Google Analytics cookies and the quiz’s note of counted steps, and keeps only your choice. It does not automatically erase data already sent. Contact us if you want to ask about that data.
Cookies and browser storage
- Your analytics choice: we store “accept” or “reject” in your browser’s local storage under
sazzle_analytics_choice_v1. One choice covers Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics, as explained when we ask for your permission. This preference record is necessary to operate your choice. It remains until you clear site storage or replace the choice. - Signature quiz progress: while you take the quiz, we keep your answers, your result, a random code for this attempt and any campaign labels from the link you arrived by, in local storage under
sazzle.signature.v4. This lets you carry on where you left off and see your result after a refresh. It never holds your email address. Retaking the quiz replaces it; it remains until you clear site storage. - Counted quiz steps: With your permission, we store a small list of quiz steps already counted in this browser to reduce duplicate analytics events. This is separate from your quiz answers. It is stored under
sazzle_analytics_counted_v1, and withdrawing your analytics choice removes it. - Test visits: if someone opens our site with a team testing link, we store
sazzle_analytics_test_v1in local storage so that browser’s visits aren’t counted. Visitors following our normal links never get this entry. - Google Analytics: with your permission, cookies named
_gaand_ga_4Y15WXMW79distinguish browsers and maintain session information. Their default lifetime is two years and may refresh on a later consented visit. You can remove them by declining analytics or clearing cookies in your browser.
Browser settings can also delete or block cookies and local storage. Clearing the preference record means we will ask for your analytics choice again. Social-profile links take you to other websites, whose own privacy and cookie notices apply.
Who receives information
We use Resend to store waitlist contacts and send confirmation, result and launch emails, Vercel to host the website, calculate requested Signature readings, process email and signup requests and, with your permission, count website usage, Upstash to hold the short-lived one-way codes that limit repeated waitlist and result-email requests (in London), Cloudflare to provide the security checks on the waitlist and result-email forms, Google to provide optional Analytics, and Microsoft 365 for correspondence sent to our contact email. Only people who need the information to run the waitlist, handle requests or protect the service should have access. Providers may use subprocessors and may also process limited information for their own security, account administration or legal purposes under their privacy notices.
We may disclose information to professional advisers or authorities where necessary to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell the waitlist or give it to event suppliers for their own marketing.
Processing outside the UK
Our providers operate internationally, including in the United States. In particular, Resend stores contact and email data in the US even when messages are sent through its Ireland region. Where information is transferred outside the UK, the applicable protection is either UK recognition that the destination provides adequate protection or contractual safeguards, including standard contractual clauses with the UK Addendum where required.
You can read the providers' data-processing terms for Resend, Vercel, Upstash, Cloudflare, Google Analytics and Microsoft. Email us for more information or a copy of the relevant safeguards.
How long we keep information
- Active waitlist records: until you unsubscribe, or the earlier of 12 months after signup and three months after Sazzle's public launch. We delete the active record and its campaign labels when that period ends. Keeping you on a separate ongoing-updates list requires a separate choice.
- Unsubscribe and consent records: we stop launch emails when you unsubscribe and remove campaign labels and other unnecessary profile information within 30 days. We retain a limited do-not-email record, including the time you unsubscribed, while we run email marketing and need it to prevent unwanted messages and to stop earlier confirmation links from adding you again. We also retain limited evidence of consent where needed to demonstrate compliance or deal with a complaint, reviewing it annually and deleting it when no longer needed. These records are not used to send marketing.
- Unconfirmed sign-ups: we don’t add you to the waitlist until you confirm. The confirmation email stays in Resend’s log for 30 days (see “Email and technical logs”).
- Email-request security codes: the one-way codes used to limit repeated waitlist and result-email requests are deleted after 24 hours at most.
- Correspondence: for as long as needed to resolve your enquiry, request or complaint and any resulting dispute or legal obligation. We review closed correspondence annually and remove it when no longer needed.
- Email and technical logs: Resend's current standard retention for email content and delivery logs is 30 days. Vercel, our hosting provider, keeps runtime logs for 30 days. Specific evidence may be retained longer where needed to investigate an incident or meet a legal obligation.
- Vercel Web Analytics: Our Vercel plan provides a 12-month reporting window. This is not a guarantee that Vercel deletes the underlying analytics data after 12 months. See Vercel’s documentation.
- Google Analytics: our current Google Analytics settings retain event-level data for two months and user-level data for 14 months. The user-level period resets on new consented activity. These settings do not apply to most standard aggregated reports, which may remain available longer. Browser cookie lifetimes are separate, as explained above.
Deletion from an active system does not necessarily erase every restricted provider backup immediately. Providers complete deletion under their contractual deletion processes. We do not use retained backup copies to restart marketing.
Your choices and rights
To stop launch emails, follow the unsubscribe link and confirm your choice, or email hello@asksazzle.com. You do not need a Sazzle account. You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, and your right to object to direct marketing is absolute. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. We normally respond to rights requests within one month; if a lawful extension applies, we will explain it.
If you have a privacy complaint, contact us using the details above. We will acknowledge it within 30 days and investigate and respond without undue delay. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data-protection regulator.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when our website, Signature quiz or waitlist processing changes and explain significant changes where appropriate. A change to this notice does not by itself give us permission to send different marketing or expand analytics beyond the scope of your choice.
